Animal
Chiropractic involves adjustments of the spine and extremity
joints. These adjustments are targeted towards correcting "subluxations"
or misalignments that occur as a result of many different factors.
B.J. Palmer theorized that trauma, thoughts, and toxins could all
cause vertebral subluxations, all of which can alter messages in
the nervous system. If the information is unbalanced, the interpretation
and response will also be distorted.

Chiropractors use the term "subluxation" to describe
a specific situation in the musculoskeletal system, primarily the
spinal column. It involves subtle misalignments of the bony structures
that interfere with the normal function of the nervous system. Subluxations
result in loss of flexibility, stiffness, muscle spasm, and lack
of mobility as well as other dysfunctions of the muscular, skeletal,
and nervous systems. |
